Our dedicated Lifeworks team has vast experience in helping veterans and families of serving military personnel. The team has skills from various backgrounds, including experienced psychologists, careers consultants and ex-military welfare officers. Whatever support you require, we are well placed to ensure you have our full, professional support.

Steve Parrott

Head Of Lifeworks
Steve leads the team with developing the Lifeworks programme to support the Armed Forces community to gain meaningful employment opportunities.  Steve has a service background having completed a career in the Parachute Regiment. Steve’s last serving role was the Unit Welfare Officer and was responsible for looking after the wounded, injured and sick personnel, helping in their path to full recovery and assisting in their transition to civilian life.

Nigel Rowe

Training & Outreach Manager
Nigel looks after all aspects of training content, delivery, referral engagement and the forward assist program, ensuring all our veterans receive bespoke career guidance and support. Nigel had a successful career as a police officer and spent most of his police career carrying out frontline operational duties. He also gained university qualifications in education, training and assessment, being instrumental in helping others develop their careers. 

Kerry Locke

Employment advisor
Our employment advisors work with our delegates from day one to provide support from the point of referral throughout the 12-month Lifeworks programme and beyond. Our employment advisors maintain contact with our delegates with scheduled, regular meetings to ensure that every opportunity available is taken advantage of, from entering the job market to ensuring veterans are happy in their current employment situation.

Stephanie Govan

Employment advisor

Stephanie has a military family background so has full understanding of the challenges military families face. Stephanie works with our delegates from day one to provide support from the point of referral throughout the 12-month Lifeworks programme and beyond. Stephanie will maintain contact with our delegates with scheduled, regular meetings to ensure that every opportunity available is taken advantage of, from entering the job market to ensuring veterans are happy in their current employment situation.

Matt Rye

Trainer & Coach

Matt has a background in the public sector, with extensive experience in leadership, development and behavioural skills. As one of our trainers & coaches, Matt is an experienced development specialist focused on individuals rather than ticking boxes, our approach is to encourage self-efficacy so that they are able to improve their own situation with our ongoing support. We can also help individuals on an ad hoc basis if they’re unable to attend our courses for any reason. Matt will continue to support through our forward assist programme where those in need of help can get timely bespoke support to achieve their goals

Mark Clifford

Trainer & Coach

Mark has a background in recruitment and has the knowledge of how recruitment processes work so is well placed to offer advice to those lookfin to further their career. As one of our trainers & coaches, Mark is an experienced development specialist focused on individuals rather than ticking boxes, his approach is to encourage self-efficacy so that those in need are able to improve their own situation with our ongoing support. Kirstie Harriman

Employer Engagement Manager

Kirstie engages with ex-military friendly employers who are keen to share their vacancies and job openings with Lifeworks. This allows us to help those in need of support with a stepping stone to positive employment outcomes. Kirstie also communicates with Veteran hubs and organisations to share information about Lifeworks courses to extend the reach of Lifeworks to change as many lives as possible.

Mandy Waters

Team Coordinator

Mandy assists the Lifeworks team by delivering admin support to ensure all areas of the team are working efficiently. In addition to this, she also works with the team to develop and improve the Lifeworks programme. Mandy is married to a serving member of the British Army so understands the needs of military families and is well placed to assist with the challenges they face.

Vocational Assessors

Vocational assessors are experienced psychologists and careers consultants here to provide guidance and support to veterans looking to change jobs, get back into work or begin any kind of work-related activities.  Their aim is to support veterans in finding out more about them in order to select a realistic and suitable career direction.
